PresbyFriend ("we", "our", or "the app") is a reading aid for presbyopia. This privacy policy explains what the app does with your information.
PresbyFriend does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. All text recognition (OCR) runs entirely on your device, and no text or image ever leaves it for recognition purposes. On iOS, recognition uses Apple's on-device Vision framework. On Android, it uses Google ML Kit, which also runs on-device.
The magnifier feature uses your camera to display a live view for reading small text. Camera data is processed entirely on-device and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted.
On iOS you may choose a photo from your library instead of using the camera. The image you pick is processed on-device for text recognition and is not uploaded anywhere.
On Android, the optional accessibility service can take a screenshot in order to extract text from another app. The screenshot is processed on-device and discarded immediately; it is never saved or shared. iOS has no equivalent feature.
PresbyFriend accesses the internet only when you explicitly share a web address for reading — it fetches that page so its text can be shown in reading mode. No browsing data is retained, and no information about you is sent with the request.
Subscriptions are processed by the platform store — the App Store on iOS, Google Play on Android. PresbyFriend does not receive or store your payment information.
PresbyFriend is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL.
